First aid course

FARMINGTON – Registrations are now being accepted for a one-day standard first aid course from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at Franklin Memorial Hospital. The course will follow the standards and guidelines for first aid from the American Red Cross and is designed for those who are currently CPR-certified. “This course will train individuals to assist a victim in emergency situations until professional help arrives, and to care for emergencies such as respiratory or cardiac problems, sudden illness and injuries,” said FMH Education Director Pam Ernest. FARMINGTON – Franklin County Soil & Water Conservation District’s Board of Supervisors will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, May 5, at the USDA Service Center Conference Room at 107 Park St.

Screening clinic

FARMINGTON – Kora Temple Shrine and the Western Mountains Shrine Club will hold an outreach screening clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 10, at Franklin Memorial Hospital. During the clinic, they will be looking for children under the age of 18 with conditions of bones, muscles, or joints, as well as burn scaring who could benefit from medical treatment at one of the many Shrine Hospitals.
