1932 – 2003

SOUTH PARIS – Joan B. Qualey, 71, of High St., died Wednesday morning, June 18, at her home after a long and courageous illness.

She was born in North Paris, Feb. 11, 1932, the daughter of Owen and Gladys Buck Bonney. She attended school in North Paris and worked at Penley Mills in West Paris for many years.

She enjoyed camping, fishing, animals, sewing and crocheting. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be missed by all of them.

In 1950 she married Ned Herrick Jr. who died in 1965, she married Edward Qualey in 1967.

Survivors include her husband of South Paris; a daughter and son-in-law, Francina and Ralph Barter of Gray; a daughter and son-in-law, Bethany and Paul Allen of Norway; a son, Cleve Herrick of So. Windham; a brother, Carl Bonney of Bryant Pond; two sisters, Barbara Knightly of West Paris and Margaret Stevens of No.Paris; five grandchildren, Rebecah and Rachel Barter both of Gray, Joanna Timberlake, Jodie Allen and Paul “PJ” Allen all of Norway; three great-grandchildren, Frankee Timberlake, Cody and Tyler Allen all of Norway.

Mrs. Qualey was pedeceased by a son, Danny Herrick; and brothers, Mert, Owen, Corey and Arthur Bonney.
