SABATTUS – State highway officials will hold a public forum Monday on future improvements to Route 9 in Lisbon and Sabattus.

Maine Department of Transportation representatives will be in the Community Room of the Sabattus Town Office at 7 p.m. to listen to concerns and to answer questions.

They also are interested in hearing local views on how the project meshes with comprehensive plans and in identifying local resources.

The proposed work area begins at the intersection of routes 9 and 196 in Lisbon and extends north for 7 miles to the Maine Turnpike overpass in Sabattus.

Improvements may include horizontal and vertical realignment, drainage and safety-related issues.
