1942 – 2003
AUBURN – Clyde O. Harris, 60, a resident of the Pownal Road died unexpectedly Sunday, July 13, at his home.
He was born in Auburn Sept. 7, 1942, the son of Cecil and Hazel McCracken Harris. He was educated in Auburn schools.
Mr. Harris had been employed as a truckdriver for the City of Auburn, untill his illness. In his earlier years he had attended the Auburn Church of the Nazarene.
His hobbies included the outdoors, playing cribbage, eating frozen custard, and feeding his birds. He enjoyed his family and friends. He lived his life one day at a time, and lived life to the fullest. His favorite quote was “Be Real.”
He leaves his daughter, Cindy Lou Harris Richardson Gowell and her husband George of Sabattus; his son, Michael Earl Harris; and his longtime companion, Amy Wing of Readfield; grandchildren, Michael Todd Wing-Harris of Readfield, Claire Gowell of Auburn, and Sarah Gowell of Sabattus; a great-granddaughter, Emily Pease of Auburn; a sister, Nina Johnson of Hudson, Fla.; his former wife, Judy Harris of Auburn; cousins, Joe and George Harris; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Cecil Harris; and a sister, May Kaechele.
