SABATTUS – Break out your satin robe or your footy pajamas. Porn legend Ron Jeremy is hosting a party at Mixers, and he wants you to show up in your favorite bedtime threads.

What else would you expect from the man with the distinction of having appeared in more porn films than anyone else?

Jeremy, the 54-year-old veteran of adult films, television and music video is hosting the Coed Pajama Party at Mixers on Friday night. Fans of “The Hedgehog” will get a chance to frolic with the man recently named as the No. 1 porn star of all time.

The shy can just hang out in their PJs and have drinks with friends – those who show up at Mixers wearing one form of pajama or another will get drink specials, according to event advertising.

Just make sure you know the definition of the word first.

“It’s pajamas,” said Mixers owner Mike Yohe. “Not lingerie. It’s going to be tasteful.”

Yohe said he has not been loud about advertising the event because he wants to avoid throngs of curiosity seekers. He wants to make sure it’s a good time for patrons but also a clean one. Contracts have been signed to ensure there is no nudity or lascivious behavior.

The concept of pajama-clad bar patrons mingling with the world’s most recognizable porn star is one few have heard of before. But it’s not all fun and games. Proceeds from the $2 cover charge will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

Jeremy has already been paid. Yohe said the idea is to donate all money collected at the door to the charity, something Mixers does each time it hosts a special event.

“Hopefully, the people who can afford to pay a little more will pay a little more,” he said.

It is hard to predict who might show up for an event of such a nature. Jeremy is known by both young and old due to the length of his career and the broadness of his experiences.

Jeremy launched his porn career in 1978 after appearing in Playgirl Magazine. His adult film stardom peaked in the 1980s, but his fame has lingered, in part because he stays in tune with popular culture. He appeared during two seasons of the reality television show “The Surreal Life” and provided a voice-over in an episode of “The Family Guy.”

Jeremy has appeared in roughly 2,000 adult movies and was recently named the No. 1 porn star of all time, according to numerous online biographies. He is best known for films only adults can see, but Jeremy has had no problems going mainstream. He has appeared in more than a dozen music videos, and in January the paperback version of his memoirs was published by Harper Collins.

According to Yohe, the pajama event was scheduled to be unique, but rowdiness will not be tolerated and troublemakers will be asked to leave. It is something he has strived for since taking over the bar in 2006.

“It’s possible to have a bar without that stigma,” Yohe said. “It’s supposed to be fun.”

Fun is something Jeremy has built a career around.

Mike Esterman, Jeremy’s agent, said his client will not be in Maine until Friday afternoon. However, on his Web site Jeremy does provide a comment for those seeking wisdom about how to break into the porn industry.

In a nutshell, it’s not going to happen.

“I cannot give advice on how to get into the business,” Jeremy wrote, “since it was many years ago when I started and so much has changed since then.”
