FARMINGTON — Summer Fest opens Friday with a variety of activities for all ages.
Along with the traditional Art in the Park, crafters, food and demonstrations on Broadway, organizers of the town’s festival have brought back a street dance to the Friday lineup after a three-year absence.
Live music by Shepherd’s Pie begins at 7 p.m. The street dance is free and open to the public from 7 to 9 p.m. with help from Franklin Savings Bank.
Shepherd’s Pie performs high-energy, high-quality dance music from rock to jazz and everything in between including blues, reggae, pop, alternative and country. Band members include Kat Poulson on vocals, Tim Wallace on lead guitar, Jodi Gunther on keyboard, Jon Abel on bass guitar, Patty Schoen vocals, and Chris Yardley on drums, harmonica and vocals.
