MECHANIC FALLS — Federal investigators are looking into a possible crime at the Mechanic Falls Post Office.

No arrests have been made but an investigation is ongoing, said Rafael Medina, a spokesman for the U.S. Postal Service’s Office of the Inspector General. That office investigates fraud, waste and misconduct throughout the U.S. Postal Service.

Medina referred inquiries to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Jonathan Chapman, a lawyer in the U.S.Attorney’s Office in Portland, declined to comment.
