AUBURN – Delia B. “Del” Tancrede, 87, formerly of 38 Jefferson St., Lewiston, passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 14, 2011 at Schooner Estates Residential Care, where she had resided the past three years.

She was born in Lawrence, Mass., June 26, 1924, daughter of the late Alphonse and Octavia Bedard. She was educated in Lewiston schools and was married April 19, 1947 to Robert A. Tancrede, who predeceased her April 3, 2003. Prior to her retirement in 1987, she was employed at Etonic Shoe.

She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, St. Ann Sodality at Holy Family Church, l’Union St. Jean-Baptiste and La Rancontre. Del enjoyed sewing, playing cards with family and friends and researching family genealogy.

She is survived by a son, Ronald Tancrede and wife, Eileen of Mt. Vernon; three daughters, Pauline Fraser and husband, Ralph of Greene, Paulette Picard and husband, Gerard of Auburn and Patricia Roy and husband, Paul of Greene; a sister, Anita Tardif of Florida; ten grandchildren, Daniel Roberts, Nicole McHale, Sandra Roberts, Michelle Tancrede, Gregory Picard, Dawn Destrini, Rodney Picard, Tyson Roy, Melissa Hartford and Brett Roy; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Albert Landry of Lewiston and Gerard Roy of Colorado; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Wilfred Bedard in WWII and five sisters-in-law, Carmen Poirier, Rita Landry, Anita Paradis, Priscilla Roy and Stella D’Amour.
