STARKS —  Basket-making classes will be held at Crafter’s Cottage in June and July, hosted by the United in Christ Presbyterian Church.

Basket-Making for Beginners is a hands-on introduction to basic basket-making techniques offered in two three-week sessions. Students will craft a different basket in each session. Materials are included in the cost of the class.

Session I will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, to Wednesday, June 25. Session II will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, to Wednesday, July 16.

The cost for the class is $50 for one session and $80 for both sessions. Scholarship assistance is available. Class fees are paid at the first class.

The cottage is a mission of United in Christ Presbyterian Church in service to the commandment of Jesus Christ “to love one another as I have loved you.” The mission aims to bring dignity, economic empowerment and respect for the work of artisans of local handmade crafts.
