1969 – 2015
FAYETTE — Diane Castonguay Gould, 45, a resident of Livermore, died unexpectedly on Monday, Jan. 19, in Fayette, as a result of an automobile accident.
She was born Sept. 4, 1969, in Lewiston, the daughter of Lionel and Louise (Veilleux) Castonguay. Diane was a graduate of Livermore Falls High School and continued her education at the University of Southern Maine.
On July 17, 1999, at Holy Family Church in Lewiston, she married William “Tom” Gould. They made their home in Livermore, and started their family, having three sons, Sam, James and Matthew.
Diane was very involved in her community; she was a member of the RSU 73 board of directors, and also served SAD 36 prior to the consolidation.
She was very devoted to her church and was a communicant and former catechist of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. Diane was responsible for starting the large raffle fundraiser for the yearly church Christmas fair.
She enjoyed photography and was known as an excellent photographer, taking beautiful pictures of sunrises and her family. She had been taking classes through Ken Landry, and had also been asked to take pictures for local activities on certain occasions.
Diane was known and loved by many in the community and was known for her kindness and readiness to help others. Above all else, her family was her world; she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister. The void of her presence will be felt deeply within her family and the community.
May you rest in peace, Diane…
She is survived by her husband, William “Tom” Gould; her sons, Sam, James and Matthew Gould; her parents, Lionel and Louise Castonguay; brothers, Robert Castonguay and his wife, Eileen; Leo Castonguay and his wife, Laurie, and Gerry and Arthur Castonguay; sisters, Jenille and Carmen Castonguay, all of Livermore, and Ida Dubois and her husband, David, of Sanford; mother and father-in-law, William and Becky Gould of Minot; brother-in-law, Jeff Gould and his wife, Bonnie, of Lewiston; many nieces and nephews; and special family friends, Christopher Hart of Auburn, Tom Wing of Lewiston and Shawn Giguere of Livermore.
