1957 – 2015

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — James “Jimmy” Dean Hart, 58, of Harrison, Idaho, died Nov. 24, 2015, at Salt Lake City Veterans Hospital.

He was born in Lewiston on April 8, 1957, the son of John and Joan Hart. He was an 11-year member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.

Jim enjoyed working on the Christmas program to help all children receive gifts and food during the holiday. Jim lived in the deep woods of Northern Idaho on the organic farm he and his wife owned. His heart was filled with joy while photographing all of the wildlife that lived there, too.

He enjoyed playing his guitars, drum kit, Native American flutes and keyboards. He recorded his music in his own studio. The love of his life was his wife, Tina, and his kids, Josh and Shay, who gave him his beloved grandkids, James, Brittany and Ashley. He loved taking them on trips all around the U.S., especially to the national parks and Disneyland. He served 14 years with the U.S. Air Force, including service overseas.

He was predeceased by his father, John; brothers, Gary and Steve; and mother, Joan Hart.

He is survived by his wife, Tina; children, Joshua and Shay Ward; grandchildren, James, Brittany and Ashley Baker; great-granddaughter, Aly Rose; sister, Tina Smith; brother, Jerry Hart; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was estranged from his brother, John Hart, due to John’s Jehovah’s Witnesses beliefs.
