You are watching a beauty pageant and each contestant is asked a question, usually about world events, to measure her spontaneity and intelligence. Then that beautiful young lady opens her mouth and the truth comes out — she’s an air head.
On the Today Show recently, the topic was the tragic events unfolding in Brussels, Belgium. In an impromptu telephone interview, Matt Lauer asked Donald Trump, “Mr. Trump, as president, if your phone rang at 2 a.m. with this terrible news, what would you do?”
Trumps’ response, “You know Matt, this is a subject that is near and dear to my heart, that’s why I’m leading in the polls.”
Trump went on and on with nothing but evasive babbling, leaving Lauer scratching his head. Lauer then repeated the question and Trump continued his babbling, like that beauty pageant contestant who didn’t have a clue.
I can understand the “poorly educated” buying Trump’s baloney, but how that con artist can fool so many intelligent Americans is beyond me.
