Hartley E. “Bud” Noyes

LEWISTON – Hartley E. “Bud” Noyes, 77, formerly of Auburn, passed away Saturday June 4, 2021 at St. Mary’s Pavilion. He was born August 1, 1943 in Lewiston, the son of Francis and Harriet (Greenleaf) Noyes.

Bud graduated from Norway High School and began his career at Panolam Industries (formerly Pioneer Plastics) where he worked throughout the organization for 45 years. He was a member of the Pioneer Management Association and was recognized for his team contribution on numerous occasions throughout his career. One of his most revered positions was supporting the opening of the companies distribution locations throughout the country.

He was an active member of the Advent Christian Church in Mechanic Falls for 15 years until the church closed in December 2019. He cherished his time with the congregation and was especially honored to act as treasurer for the last several years. He had many special friendships with the members of the church, and grew particularly found of the pastor Daryl Young and his family. Many of these memories acted as his most adored time spent in his retirement and his family will be forever grateful that he fostered such rewarding relationships here.

Bud was an avid fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics and could always be found in a hat for one of his favorite teams. He was a collector of many things; from his Budweiser mugs, to state coins and the National Geography series, he took great pride in these and showcased them with his favorite photos. He loved to camp and traveled all over Maine to do this as a child and adult. Aside of these memories one of his most proud trips was taking his extended family to Florida to experience Disney for the first time. Whether camping or at home his love of cribbage was shared with his brother and beyond and he never let a skunk go unremembered.

He is survived by three children John Noyes, Wonda Lever and her husband John, and Lisa Noyes; eight grandchildren Jennifer, John, Cassie. David, Bethany, Brittany, Kyle, and Corey; three great-grandchildren.

Bud was predeceased by his parents; two sisters Beverly Treadwell and Margaret Meserve, his brother Erland (Bing) Noyes and his beloved Mary (Ritchie).

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Rachel Kerner and nurse practitioner Jennifer Shaw of St Mary’s, the team at Androscoggin Home Hospice Care who offered guidance and support through the last days of Bud’s life and the family will be forever indebted to. A special thanks to Steve and Nikki who extended a love and care that will be forever be appreciated.
