LEWISTON – Andre “Andy” R. Lachance was called home on Aug. 17, 2021 at the age of 80.

Andy was born on Feb. 2, 1941 in Montreal, Canada to Omer and Louise Labreche Lachance. He moved to Lewiston at the age of 12 and was raised by his Aunt Jeannette and Uncle Irenee Lachance. Andy graduated from St. Dominic High School in 1961.

Andy was a man filled with passion and love for his family and friends. He enjoyed reminiscing about his time spent as owner of Andy’s Fast Foods in Lewiston. He also owned ARL Replacement Windows.

He was a great hockey player and dedicated many years to the youth hockey leagues. The friendships he made throughout his life have remained strong and he cherished visits from them including Dudley Caron and Pat Lebel, who visited with him often. Andy loved spending time at Taylor Pond , making people laugh, surprises and hearing stories about his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Andy was a wonderful husband, friend and father. He will be deeply missed but as we move forward in life, we will remember the laughs and the wonderful memories that he has left with us. Andy was so very proud of his children including his son, Michael Lachance who was his rock.

Andy is survived by his wife, Jeanne Laroche Tripp, who he married on Sept. 8, 1989; his daughter, Susan and her husband, Michael Meservier of Turner; daughter, Linda and her husband Norm Berry, also of Turner; daughter, Debbie and her spouse, Suzanne Murphy of Seattle, Wash.; his son, Michael and his wife, Jennifer of Lewiston; stepsons, Jerry Tripp and his wife, Edina of Germany; Ryan Tripp of Lisbon Falls; Alan Tripp and his wife, Molly of Lewiston. Andy also leaves behind seven granddaughters, Renee Poulin, Jessica Gagnon , Jennifer Carr, Nicole Elie, Erin, Kristen and Courtney Lachance, all of whom he adored, step-grandchildren, Zachary, Eva, Nolan and Dylan Tripp. His blessings were many and he also left behind eight great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Griffin, Ellie, Lincoln, Ryan, Holden, Theodore and Henry. He is also survived by his nephew, Daniel and nieces, France and Marie Claude of Canada.

He was predeceased by his parents, his aunt and uncle and his fun-loving and wonderful sister, Lise Cote and her husband, Claude Cote.
