LEWISTON – Rhonda J. Cieslak, 50, of Lewiston, passed away early Saturday morning, Sept. 18, 2021 at CMMC surrounded by her loving husband and daughter. She courageously battled colon cancer for two and a half years.
Rhonda was born in Augusta on August 24, 1971, to Richard Girard and Edith Rollins. A Cony High School graduate. Rhonda spent her working years taking care of the elderly. Most recently at Odd Fellows.
Rhonda was a longtime resident of Lewiston where she and her husband Ryan resided with their “child” dog, Winston, her best friend who never left her side throughout the entire journey.
Her favorite pastime was traveling the country with her husband; her favorite destination being Florida, visiting several times per year. Her greatest enjoyment was spending quality time with her husband. Her grandchildren, Levi and Myra, were her sunshine. Levi and Rhonda had a special bond, quoting “You are my Sunshine, my only Sunshine” always. Rhonda and her daughter, Natasha, were extremely close; spending quality time with one another and using FaceTime, they would talk most every night with the grandchildren. She formed a very close bond with her stepson, Matthew, and also was very close to her cousin, Kristy Helen.
Rhonda is survived by her husband of 17 years, Ryan Cieslak of Lewiston; daughter, Natasha Onofrio of South Paris, and her husband Justin and their two children Levi and Myra; stepson, Matthew Cieslak and companion Hailea Dudley of Venice, Fla. and stepdaughter, Morgan Cieslak of Norway; her sisters-in-law Dawn Perreault and husband Derek of Venice, Fla., Marcy Clark and husband Richard of Buckfield. She is survived by her mother, Edith Rollins; and a half-brother and sister.
She was predeceased by her son, Frederick Horne; her father, Richard Girard; and three siblings.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23 at Pinette Dillingham and Lynch Funeral Home, 305 Alfred A. Plourde Pkwy, Lewiston, ME 04240 784-4023.
