Why do you think you’re the most qualified, or best candidate for this seat?

My family has lived in Auburn for generations. My wife and I both work in Auburn where my wife teaches and my son attends school. I have lived and own property on lower Spring Street and my current home is on Danville Corner Road, which are both in Ward 4. I feel I have a perspective that includes all of Ward 4 and its residents. Let’s make this city a place the next generation will call home.

Please name two issues that you believe are critical to Auburn’s future, and how you would address them.

Affordable housing is a serious issue for renters and aspiring homeowners alike. Smart zoning and development can relieve the pressure of the supply crunch while stabilizing prices, generating revenue and funding the costs associated with running Auburn.

We have amazing potential in our downtown. The opportunity is to support existing and promote new businesses downtown.  Creating new shopping and dining options while improving walkability will create a space that is safer for foot traffic and community activity.

Do you think the city should expand recreational and development opportunities surrounding Lake Auburn? Why or why not?

This is a question that people are very passionate about. There are few things more fundamental than clean drinking water. I’m in favor of development if it can be done without negatively impacting the quality of our drinking water. I don’t ever envision a shore line for Lake Auburn that resembles Taylor Pond in any outcome. I believe science and facts should dictate whether we develop, and if we do how much.
