RUMFORD – Roger A. Bowden, 91, of Auburn passed away Nov. 1, 2021 at Rumford. He was born June 29, 1930 in Auburn, the son of George E. and Eva E. Bowden.
Roger grew up in Auburn and attended Edward Little High School. He enlisted in the US Air Force from 1951-1955 and served in the Korean War. Roger was a member of the Legion, VFW, AMVETS and social clubs.
He worked various jobs and prior to his retirement he worked at the Lewiston Sun Journal. Roger enjoyed golfing, bowling and watching the Boston Red Sox games.
Surviving are his four children and five grandchildren, Patricia Ann Beauchesne, Doris E. LaBrecque, Roger A. Bowden II, and Dean S. Bowden, Ryan Beauchesne, Jenna Schreiber, Kristen Espeaignette, Austin Bowden and Meghan Bowden. We all missed out on the father and grandfather we wish he could have been, if it wasn’t for alcoholism, it was his loss as well.
The family would like to thank the staff at Rumford Community Home for taking care of him the last 2 ½ years and especially his last few weeks.
