FARMINGTON – Bernard L. Gray Jr., 91, a resident of East Livermore, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.

He was born on August 24, 1930, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Bernard L. and Bertha (Halvacs) Gray. He attended school in Cleveland, Ohio and Livermore Falls, graduating from Livermore Falls High School in 1950.

Bernard proudly served from 1948-’50 in the Reserves, the U.S. Navy (’50-’54), and Air Force (’55-’59). On Oct. 8, 1960, in Livermore, Bernard married Lorraine Pelletier, they were married for 47 years before her passing Jan. 25, 2008.

He worked for Oxford Paper Company in Rumford for 14 years. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. He was a Past Commander of the VFW Post #3335 in Jay.

He is survived by his constant companion, Diane Shorey of East Livermore; his brother, Bruce Gray and partner Marilyn Whitcomb of Livermore Falls, his sister, Barbara Letalien and her husband Norman; his sons Richard Andrews and wife Lorraine of Florida, Steven Gray and wife Lisa of Virginia, Kerry Gray of East Livermore, and Jeffrey Gray of Rhode Island, his daughters Sandra Fitzherbert and husband Doug of Jay, Mary Ann Gray of Virginia, Christine Chambless and husband Darrell of Oklahoma, Lisa Gray of Utah, and also son-in-law, Roland (Frenchie) LaPointe of Virginia; 23 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren;13 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Lorraine Gray; his daughter, Chrystal LaPointe, his son, Mark Andrews; a great-grandson,Solomon; son-in-law, Raymond Lachance and sister-in-law, Charlotte Gray.

A graveside service will be held in the spring. Arrangements by FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church St., Livermore Falls. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, 445 Park St., Livermore Falls.
