Karen S. Wilson

AUBURN – Karen S. Wilson, 58, of Auburn, died Thursday afternoon Dec. 9, 2021 at home with family at her side.

She was born in Augusta on Feb. 23, 1963, one of three girls born to Richard and Vivian (Eastman) Cahill. Karen grew up in Auburn, graduated from Edward Little High School with the class of 1981 and attended Westbrook College.

On Sept. 4, 1982, she married Ryan Wilson and together they settled in Auburn to raise their family. She was a member of the Auburn Methodist Church on Park Avenue. Karen had a genuine love of all animals and especially enjoyed the many years of company and companionship of her two dogs, Lady and Bruno.

She was an avid reader and an outdoor walker and enjoyed hiking and camping with family as well as dining out. She also treasured many years of cooking in the kitchen and trying new recipes and sharing other recipes with her mother, Vivian.

She never missed her childrens’ sporting events and loved her “date nights” at the movies with her husband Ryan, which they did for several years. Karen was a loving, devoted and hardworking wife, mother, sister, daughter and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

She leaves behind her husband Ryan Wilson of Auburn; her two children Brooke Wight and her husband Mackenzie of Auburn and Ryan J. Wilson II and his fiancée Holly Sullivan of Portland; four grandchildren, Chloe Martin, Kennadie Wight, Carter Wight and Jacoby Wight; her mother, Vivian Cahill of Auburn; two sisters, Tammy Sturtevant and husband Ed of Hebron and her daughters Robyn Hollenbeck and Jessica Giard; and Penny Malloy and husband Tim of Poland and their children Crystal and Shannon; and her “special group” of family and close friends who supported and cared for her and Ryan for the last year and a half.

Karen was predeceased by her father, Richard Cahill, in 2017.

Visitation Fortin Group / AUBURN Sunday Dec. 19 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Mon. Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in the spring in the family lot at Mt .Hope Cemetery.
