100 Years Ago: 1922

Tickets for “Pepita’ the Mexican musical comedy to be presented by E.L.H.S. students in Webster School March 16 and 17 went on sale today. The students report a wonderful sale. Prof. E.S. Pitcher, who coaching the production, announces that his daughter, Mrs. Gladys Pitcher Sleeper of Boston is coming to Auburn this week to assist in rehearsing the dance numbers.

50 Years Ago: 1972

When the Women’s Society of the Lewiston United Baptist Church observe their 30th anniversary, Mrs. John C. Crockett. will be vocalist for the musical program which will highlight the program. Mrs. Lloyd Lux will be the pianist. The supper meeting will also observe the 50th anniversary of the church and Garvey MacLean, interim minister will be the guest speaker. The supper is scheduled to take place at 6:15. on February 29. Past presidents of the Women’s Society will be honored

25 Years Ago: 1997

(from a Journal photo) Lost Valley Ski Area President/owner Fern Pontbriand, presents a plaque to Joan Libby, wife of longtime ski patroller Richard D. Libby, while Ski Patrol Director Roland Gaumont watches. A Ski Patrol warming hut at the area was named in honor of Libby, who was associated with Lost Valley for 31 years.
