The city of Lewiston recently hired four new employees.
Shelley Norton has been hired as a city planner by the Code & Planning Department.
She had worked as a land use planner for the Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments since 2017 and as a planner for the town of Malta, New York, for four years prior. She has a master’s degree in landscape architecture from Cornell University, has practiced as a landscape architect in New York, and became a certified planner in 2020.
Adam Jones has been hired as a code enforcement officer in the Code and Planning Department.
He graduated from Messalonskee High School in 2002 and went on to attend Colby-Sawyer College. Post college, he obtained numerous certifications and licenses, which has allowed him to serve many
industries, starting in real estate after college to his most recent position as a certified occupancy specialist/property manager in the Central Maine area. He also has been an internationally-published professional photographer and business owner for over 18 years.
Jones is a member of the Lisbon Fire Department where he obtained his Firefighter I & II certifications in 2018 and is working toward his EMT-B license.
Jacqueline Crucet has been hired as Lewiston’s neighborhood development planner.
In this role, she coordinates the City’s Choice Neighborhood Implementation grant work and works with residents and community partners to support implementation of the city’s Growing our Tree Streets Transformation Plan.
Crucet comes to Lewiston from Miami, Florida, where she spent the past 13 years leading community building efforts and community dialogue around public land and policy through her role as assistant director of the National Parks Conservation Association. She holds a master’s degree in public administration from the Florida International University and bachelor of arts degree with high honors in American studies from Smith College.
Pauline Chouinard is the new administrative assistant for Code & Planning and Community Development.
She is a Lewiston native, graduated from Lewiston High School, and has earned a variety of certificates from the University of Southern Maine and the University of Maine.
She had a 30-year career in local and regional banking, as well as most recently working at Concentric by Ginko.
