Lorraine T. Cyr

RUMFORD – Lorraine T. Cyr, 92, of Rumford, peacefully passed away late Thursday evening, April 21, 2022 at the Rumford Community Hospital. Born in Rumford on August 27, 1929, she was the daughter of Jack and Agnes (Lacroix) Waugh.

Lorraine was educated in Rumford schools and remained a lifelong resident of this community. She was married to Leo “Cebum” Cyr who predeceased her on Jan. 29, 2005. Lorraine was a caring and loving stay at home mother and wife who enjoyed cooking and caring for her children and grandchildren. As a devout Catholic and a lady of deep faith, she was a longtime member of the former St. Theresa’s Church in Mexico and St. Athanasius- St. John’s Church.

She was a loving, devoted and hardworking wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. Lorraine leaves behind her six children, Lynda Beavers, Penelope and Charlie Lorenson, Arthur and Marianne Cyr, Leo and Becky Cyr, Kevin and Dawn Cyr, and Roger Cyr; 13 grandchildren, Henry Farrington, Tammy Farrington, Shaun Farrington, Wayne Cyr, Rudy Lorenson, Colton Cyr, Travis Cyr, Matthew Cyr, Aaron Cyr, Kevin (Jesse) Cyr and Calen Cyr, Thomas Cyr, and Nathaniel Cyr; one sister Barbara Laramee, two brothers John Waugh and David Waugh; and several nieces and nephews and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her two sisters Carol Pratt and Jackie LaChapelle and one brother Greg Waugh.

At her prior request, services will be private and a celebration of her life will take place later this summer.
