Bernadette Hodgkins

LEWISTON – Bernadette Hodgkins, 76, died at her home in Lewiston on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. She was formerly of Roxbury.

Bernadette was born in Rumford on Dec, 23, 1945, the daughter of Joseph T. St. Pierre and Alberta (Baker) St. Pierre. She received her education in the Rumford school system and attended the University of Maine, Farmington.

On May 18, 1968, she married David L. Hodgkins, who on Feb. 21, 2011 went to be in the presence of his Lord and Savior. Together they raised two daughters, Paula Marie and Crystal Jean, who brought great joy in both of their lives.

Her work career consisted of Diamond International for 15 years and Boise/Mead Westvaco/New Page as a lab tech with almost 30 years of service there.

The Lord had blessed her with various interest. She was given the opportunity to run a small floral shop, had a small jewelry business and enjoyed painting. The best blessing was to be part of the gospel group the Fishers of Men for almost 15 years. This group provided music to local nursing homes on a weekly basis and ministered in churches, outdoor venues, and jails.

Bernadette was a bright light and a blessing and in all our lives and will be greatly missed. She was predeceased by the husband, David, and her parents Joseph and Alberta.

In accordance with Bernadette’s wishes a small private graveside ceremony will be held.

Interment will be in the Pineview Cemetery in Roxbury. Arrangements are under the direction of the Meader & Son Funeral Home 3 Franklin St Rumford, Maine
