In honor of the Feast of Corpus Christi, parishes around Maine this weekend are planning outdoor Eucharistic processions and other special events.

The feast is often marked by Eucharistic processions, during which the Blessed Sacrament is carried in a monstrance through the church and into the streets, according to a news release from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland.

Here is a list of special events confirmed for this weekend:

Bangor
All are welcome to gather for adoration from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 18, at St. Mary Church, 768 Ohio St.

East Millinocket
A eucharistic procession will also be held after the 10 a.m. Mass on Sunday, June 19, at St. Peter Church, 58 Cedar St.

Farmington
A eucharistic procession will be held after the 10:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, June 19 at St. Joseph Church, 133 Middle St. Adoration will continue in the main church following the procession until benediction of the Blessed Sacrament at 4:45 p.m.

Fort Kent
Eucharistic adoration and benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will be offered from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 19 at St. Louis Church, 26 East Main St.

Fryeburg
A eucharistic procession will be held after the 10:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, June 19 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 857 Main St. A potluck lunch will follow in the church hall.

Houlton
A eucharistic procession through downtown will begin immediately following the 10:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, June 19 at St. Mary of the Visitation Church, 112 Military St.

Lewiston
A eucharistic procession will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, June 19, from Holy Family Church, 607 Sabattus St., to the Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul, 122 Ash St. A Blessing of the Cities will take place on the steps of the Basilica. A shuttle will be available for anyone needing a ride during the procession. A reception will take place following the blessing, and the shuttle will be available for a ride back to Holy Family.

Jay
A eucharistic procession will be held after the 4 p.m. Mass on Saturday, June 18 at St. Rose of Lima Church,  1 Church St.

Mechanic Falls
A eucharistic procession will be held after the 10:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, June 19 at Our Lady of Ransom Church, 117 Elm St. The procession will be followed by a potluck lunch in the church hall.

Millinocket
A eucharistic procession will be held after the 4 p.m. Mass on Saturday, June 18 at St. Martin of Tours Church, 19 Colby St.

Old Town
Eucharistic adoration will be held between the 8 and 11 a.m. Masses and then after the 11 a.m. Mass on Sunday, June 19 at Holy Family Church, 429 Main St. Devotions and benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will begin at 1 p.m.

Portland
As part of the 10 a.m. Neophyte Mass on Sunday, June 19, a eucharistic procession will be held at the end of the Mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception at 307 Congress St. All are welcome to gather.

Portland
A eucharistic procession will be held following the 11:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, June 19 at St. Louis Church, 279 Danforth St.

South Portland
A eucharistic procession will be held after the 10 a.m. Mass on Sunday, June 19, at Holy Cross Church, 124 Cottage Road. The procession from the church will continue through the local neighborhood.

Winslow
A parish Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, June 19 in the grotto of St. John the Baptist Church, 26 Monument St.

Yarmouth
An all-night prayer vigil for the Solemnity of Corpus Christi will be held at Sacred Heart Church on 326 Main St. Adoration will begin after the 4 p.m. Mass on Saturday, June 18, with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament followed by sacred music for the first hour. Each hour will be dedicated to specific causes or ministries until 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, June 19. Mass will begin at 8 a.m. followed by breakfast in the church hall until 10:30 a.m. For more information or to sign up, visit pothe.org.
