Julie-Ann (Miller) Hamlin

HAVERHILL, Mass. – Julie-Ann (Miller) Hamlin went home to our Lord on April 4, 2022 after a long illness. She was born on August 23, 1949, in Neptune, N.J., the daughter of Marguerite Hall Miller Ferris and James Ernest Miller of New Jersey.

She was raised in Wall Township, N.J. Following her graduation from Wall High School in 1967 she enlisted in the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force she received her National Certification as an Operating Room Technician in March of 1971. She was honorably discharged from the Air Force with the rank of E4 in July 1971.

She moved to South Waterford in 1973 where she resided for 26 years prior to moving to Massachusetts in the Fall of 1999. While living in Maine she was employed for many years by James Newspapers, Inc. (The Advertiser-Democrat) as an assistant to the president and human resources director. Before moving to Massachusetts, she received her certificate in human resources from USM, Portland. Prior to her retirement, she was employed with Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, Chelmsford, Mass.

Ms. Hamlin was a long-time member of American Legion Post 82, Norway; Charter member of the National Association of Operating Room Technicians; Charter member and Past President of the Board of Directors for R.E.A.C.H. in Maine; and a Charter member of the Women in Military Association. She loved history and was an avid reader.

Her survivors include her son, Aaron Hamlin; and grandson, Alexander Hamlin of Danvers, Mass.; daughter, Sonya Morey of Haverhill, Mass. and grandson, Austin Craig and his wife, Selena along with their daughter, Lilianna Marie Craig of San Diego, Calif.; brother, John Miller, brother, David Miller and sister-in-law, Stella of Vista, Calif., brother, Charles Ferris and sister-in-law, Seren of Decatur, Ala., sister, Barbara Ferris; several beloved nieces and nephews as well as her BFF, Leasa Garvin and husband, Mike.

She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Jackie Miller and sister, Jerri Miller Woodley.
