Charlotte C. Bower

AUBURN – Charlotte C. Bower, 90, of Auburn, passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022, at her home, with her loving husband at her bedside.

Charlotte was born April 30, 1932, in Melrose, Mass., the daughter of Frank and Carolyn Coburn. She attended Melrose schools and graduated from Nasson College in Springvale.

In January of 1954, she married her true love, William “Bud” Bower in Melrose, Mass. Together they raised two children, Carolyn “Lynn” and William “Skipper”. Charlotte enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her three grandchildren, Daniel, Randall, and Stephanie.

While she mainly was a homemaker, she also volunteered for various civic organizations and worked diligently on Governor Longley’s campaign. She was active in her church, West Auburn Congregational Church, volunteered for the Freeport Historical Society and also taught classes in ceramics.

She is survived by her husband; son; grandchildren; and great-grandchild, Aria Bower; two brothers, William and George Coburn; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Carolyn; and her brother, Frank.

The Bower family would like to thank special family friends, The Shields family, Ann and George St. Hilaire, Jay and Rachel Bishop and the many caregivers that came in to help care for Charlotte.

A small graveside service will be held on Friday, Aug. 26 at 10:30 a.m. at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn.
