JAY — Spruce Mountain/Dirigo’s Abby St. Clair scored a hat trick and notched an assist to steer the Phoenix to a 5-0 victory over Oak Hill in an MVC girls soccer game Wednesday.
Jazmin Ryder and Lorellei Farrer also contributed goals, and an assist went to Mackenzie Guay.
Spruce Mountain/Dirigo (8-6) goalie Emma Towers made two saves and Oak Hill (3-11) goalie MacKenzie Vattaso made four saves.
BOYS SOCCER
MT. BLUE 4, OXFORD HILLS 0: The Cougars (6-7-1) dumped in four goals in the second half to overpower the Vikings (1-13) in Farmington.
Kaden Smith, JJ Greenlaw, Thomas Cormier and Julian Reynolds each scored a goal, with two assists going to Will Mayhew and one to Trent Beaudoin.
Oxford Hills goalie Emmett Hand stopped 16 shots, while Chase Ranger made two saves for Mt. Blue.
FIELD HOCKEY
ST. DOMINIC 3, WELLS 0: Emily Andrews scored two goals and Choe Beauchesne chipped in with her unassisted goal to help give the Saints a win over the Warriors in Wells.
Maia Cote made two saves to secure the shutout for St. Dom’s.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
POSTSEASON BRACKETS SET: The Heal point standings became finalized and postseason brackets set for all three classes Wednesday.
Gray-New Gloucester finished 8-6 to secure the No. 7 seed in the Class B state playoffs. The Patriots will open the playoffs by hosting a preliminary round match against No. 10 Wells (6-8) on Thursday at 6 p.m. Gray-New Gloucester, which enters the postseason on a five-match winning streak, swept the Warriors in a midseason match. The winner of Thursday’s match will advance to a quarterfinal matchup against No. 2 Gardiner (14-0). The Patriots lost to the Tigers 3-1 in the match following the Wells win. Their current win streak started two matches later.
Yarmouth enters the postseason No. 1 in Class B, Biddeford is the top seed in Class A and Washington Academy clinched the No. 1 spot in Class C. Lewiston finished its season with a 2-12 record and the No. 14 spot in Class A, which qualified 13 of 19 teams for the playoffs.
MENS SOCCER
UMF 2, LASELL 1: Coleman Watson and Aric Belanger each scored a goal to lead the Beavers (7-5-2, 5-2-1) past the Lasers (4-9-3, 2-5-3) in Farmington.
Edward Little grad Christian Beliveau assisted on both goals.
Daniel Faynstein scored on an assisted by Kyle Stewart for Lasell.
WOMENS SOCCER
LESLEY 3, UMF 1: Abby Kalou, Kylie Chagnon and Calli Masters each scored a goal to lead the Lynx (7-7-0, 3-0) past the Beavers (7-6-2, 5-1-2) in Farmington.
UMF’s unassisted goal came from Audrey Fletcher, a Monmouth Academy grad. Paige Gonya made four saves while getting the start in goal for the Beavers, before Lily Souza stopped six more shots in the final 21:45 of the game.
