Commissioner responsibilities include overseeing the county personnel system, coordinating activities of the county board, and central administration, including county departments with independently elected officers such as auditor and treasurer, recorder, attorney and sheriff.

Responsibilities also include reviewing, adjusting and adopting the annual county budget, monitoring the fiscal health of the county, and authorizing the application of/or receipts of funds from the federal and state government and their use within the county budget.

Andrew Lewis, a graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington with a BA in business psychology, is a human resource professional with experience in balancing employee training and development while meeting the objectives of an organization, and is qualified to fulfill Androscoggin County commissioner duties.

One example is the need for a smooth transition for the Sheriff’s Department from the county building to a new location.

Lewis’ expertise and experience would greatly benefit Androscoggin County residents.
