Linda Joy (Gowell) KirkB1946 – 2023BMECHANIC FALLS – Linda Joy (Gowell) Kirk died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023, at CMMC in Lewiston with her husband and children by her side.

Born in Lewiston on Feb. 16, 1946, to Carl and Gloria (Allain) Gowell, she graduated from Mechanic Falls High School in 1964 and Main Medical Center Nursing Program in 1967. After graduation she worked as an RN at CMG and Lawrence General Hospital.

On Oct. 7, 1967, she wed Roger Kirk at Our Lady Ransom Church in Mechanic Falls.

Linda enjoyed watching and following the Red Sox (since age 10), reading, knitting, cross stitch, vacationing on Moose Pond in Bridgton and Summerside PEI, cheering at Daniel’s baseball games, and attending shows of Kevin and Daniel’s rock bands.

She is survived by her husband, her brother Dann Gowell and wife Kathy of Bangor, nieces Amy MacDonald and Kelly Gowell, her sister Peg Chadbourne and husband Jim of Denmark ME, niece Kaytee Chadbourne, nephew Wesley Woodworth, grandniece Olivia McCourt, grandnephew Terron McCourt, her sons Kevin Kirk of St. Paul MN and Daniel Kirk and wife Elizabeth of Boulder Creek CA, and granddaughter Ryan Kirk and grandsons Axel Kirk and Xavier Kirk.

She was predeceased by her parents, a niece Amber (Woodworth) McCourt, a grandnephew Gryffin Lapierre, and grandnephew Alex Chabre.
