LITCHFIELD – Lyndell A. Earle of Litchfield, Maine passed away peacefully on April 20, 2023 at the age of 91. She was born to Blanche (Elwell) and Charles Danforth on Dec. 13, 1931. Lyndell graduated valedictorian from Litchfield Academy in 1950. In November of that same year Lyndell married Robert H. Earle. They celebrated 55 years of marriage prior to his death in 2005. Lyndell and Bob raised five children in Lisbon Center, where she served as Postmaster from 1971 – 1991.

Lyndell was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the First Church of Christ Scientist, Auburn. Lyndell was presented with the Community Citizen Award by the Lisbon Grange in 1986. Lyndell was a very talented seamstress, sewing costumes for Litchfield’s Bicentennial and quilts for her large family.

Lyndell is survived by her daughters, Holly VanCura, Joni Sloan and John, Patty Earle, and Judy Earle; 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. “Tooka” leaves behind her sisters, Fern Ballou, Karen Byras, Kathy Haigh and Bob; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lyndell was predeceased by her husband, son Christopher, great-grandson Wesley; her parents, sister Betty Kendrick, and brother Glendon Vahue.

Per Lyndell’s wishes, there will be a private graveside service.
