Our neighborhood’s safety is at risk due to speeding drivers in Wilton and the Dixfields. The speed limit on many streets is 35 mph, but many drivers ignore it, putting us all in danger.

Here’s the deal: If people speed by 1-9 mph, they can be fined $114, and it can go up to $278. Those who have a commercial driver’s license could lose their job and license. Excessive speeding can even lead to a $1,000 fine or jail time.

I’m urging all local drivers to follow the speed limit for everyone’s safety. Those who are tired of speeders should report them to the police. Speeding cars could crash into our homes anytime, and in fact they have.

Let’s ask law enforcement to step up and ticket those making our streets unsafe.
