I write in support of David Chittim, candidate for the Ward 6 Lewiston City Council seat.

David has a long and varied record of public service and a deep understanding of the challenges facing municipal government. For example, he worked 12 years as the municipal engineer in Lisbon and Rockland.

At the local level, he has served as chair of the city’s Historic Preservation Review Board and as a member of Lewiston Public Works Advisory Committee, and as past treasurer and current president of the Androscoggin Historical Society. In this last capacity, he has overseen the challenging task of relocating the society to its a new site on Lisbon Street.

I am confident David would bring his breadth and depth of experience and his dedication to the public interest to the work of the Lewiston City Council.

I hope my fellow citizens will join me in voting for David Chittim.
