GRAY — Emma Bowden scored twice and Olivia Knudsen chipped in a goal to lead Gray-New Gloucester/NYA field hockey to a 3-1 win over rival Poland on Thursday.
Bowden and Knudsen also assisted on each other’s goals. Amelia Bowie also tallied an assist for the Patriots (5-5-2), and goalie Samantha Poulin finished with seven saves.
Rianna St. Pierre scored an unassisted goal in the third for the Knights (3-10).
LEWISTON 1, OXFORD HILLS 0: Lauren Cote scored in overtime to lift the Blue Devils (6-7) to a road win over the Vikings (3-8-1) in Paris.
Cote’s game-winner was scored on a penalty corner and was set up by Gabby Thomas. Thomas also assisted on both of Lewiston’s goals in Wednesday’s win over Camden Hills.
Blue Devils goalie Sarah Mack made two saves. Coach Jenessa Talarico lauded the play of midfielder Bella Dube and that of the team’s defense, which “made some crucial defensive plays down the stretch.”
Oxford Hills goalie Gabby Wright was strong in goal throughout the game and finished with 12 saves.
LEAVITT 4, MCI 1: Four Hornets (10-3) had goals in a road win over the Huskies (6-6-1) in Pittsfield.
Maddie Morin scored a goal and set up another. Ava Twitchell, Ainsley Barry and Sage Dunn also scored. Emma Beedy, Olivea Miller and Calee Libby each had one assist.
Ashlee Jarvis scored Maine Central Institute’s goal. Chi Chi Rivera made nine saves.
Emily Poland and Isabelle Westman shared time in goal for the Hornets. Poland stopped two shots and Westman stopped one.
BOYS SOCCER
FRYEBURG 7, LISBON 0: The Raiders (8-4) received two goals apiece from AJ Ayala, Nicholas Calvo Fernandez and Hugo Sala Marseca as they roared out to a 6-0 halftime lead against the Greyhounds (3-8-1) in Fryeburg.
Alexis Castillo also scored.
Desean Trufant made seven saves for Lisbon.
GIRLS SOCCER
MT. ABRAM 2, OAK HILL 1: The Roadrunners (4-7-1) scored the first to goals to earn a win over the Raiders (1-10) in Salem Township.
Abby McCarty passed to Bella Dereszynski in the box, and Derenszynski scored to give Mt. Abram a 1-0 lead early in the first half.
The Roadrunners’ second goal came with 16:29 left in the game, when Autumn Pulk fired a shot into the net from 30 yards out.
Kaylynn scored Oak Hill’s goal by crashing the goal on a missed shot and putting the rebound across the goal line with 6:04 to play.
Raiders goalie Mackenzie Vattaso made 12 saves on 14 shots, while Mt. Abram’s Jany Pepin stopped four of the five shots she faced.
