Carol Ann Seward

AUBURN – Carol Ann Seward died Oct. 4, 2023 at the hospice house in Auburn.

She was born Jan. 22, 1935 to Ann and Victor Seward in New York City, N.Y. and raised in Long Island, N.Y. with her brother, Ken (deceased). At the age of 5, the family moved to Cuba for five years while her father worked for Remington Rand typewriters. She reminisced fondly about this period in her life.

After moving to Valley Stream, N.Y., Carol graduated high school and received her associates’ degree from SUNY at Alfred, N.Y. She married Casper “Bud” Pepitone and they moved to Gary, Ind. and began their family. They moved to Connecticut and Massachusetts and were later divorced.

Carol then enjoyed a long and successful career as a realtor with Beazley Co. in Connecticut. She moved to Maine to be closer to family in retirement and noted that she lived here the longest stretch of her life without moving.

Carol volunteered with the Auburn library and Senior College. Her retirement was active and social. She took classes at Senior College and water aerobics at the Y. Tuesdays were reserved for expeditions with her friends, “The Walkabouts”. She liked to read and was always up for a game or outing.

Carol is survived by and forever in the hearts of her three children and grandchildren, Linda Pepitone, Lewiston; Theresa Selby and husband Bob, Wiscasset; and Anthony Pepitone, Abbeyville, S.C.; Cara Pavlak, Washington, D.C., Sasha Pavlak, Arlington, Va., Dale and Kaytie Pavlak, Essex Junction, Vt., Neal Pavlak, Burlington, Vt.; and a special cousin, Frank Joseph, Piermont, N.Y. and husband Ross, along with cousins in California.

There will be a celebration of life at Pinette Dillingham and Lynch Funeral Home, 305 Alfred Plourde Parkway, Lewiston, Saturday Nov. 25 at 1:30 p.m. All who loved Carol are invited. Service will begin at 2:30 p.m. with light refreshments following.
