LEWISTON — The Androscoggin Historical Society has planned a grand opening for 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at its new home at 93 Lisbon St.

An open house follows until 5 p.m. with a presentation at 7 p.m. at LA Arts, 168 Lisbon St.

The plaque unveiling and remarks will begin at 12:30 p.m. outside. State Sen. Margaret Rotundo will offer comments along with society president David Chittim. Retired attorneys Coleman Coyne and Paul Murphy, former owners of the building, will remove their law office signage as a prelude to revealing the new society plaque, according to a news release from Chittim.

The open house will include tours of the exhibitions and society’s library, archives and facilities.

The Penobscot Marine Museum will present a slideshow of selections from its collection of glass plate negatives relating to Androscoggin County.

All events are free.

The society will hold public hours from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, and Saturday, Nov. 18, and from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17. Regular public hours will begin thereafter as posted at androhistory.org.
