DEAR SUN SPOTS: Is baking your passion? Do you want to make a difference in the lives of feral cats? Tommy’s Feral Feline Friends 4th of July Bake Sale & Bottle Drive will be held Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Family Dollar, 11 Middle Road in Sabattus.

We are looking for bakers and baked goods. It would be great if we had bakers who would like to make diabetic and gluten-free treats as well.

Join us in helping to make this Fourth of July event a memorable one for Tommy’s babies. Your baked goods, bottles and cans, and donations will go a long way toward helping us continue to support the forgotten feral cat colonies with food, warmth, veterinarian care, and so much more.

With your help and support, we can continue this crucial mission every day. Your generosity, including donations, is appreciated. Donations can be sent to Tommy’s Feral Feline Friends, P.O. Box 274, Greene, ME 04236 or at https://www.tommysferalfelinefriends.com. For more information, please contact Tommy’s team at normblais39@yahoo.com

ANSWER: I hope you have a great turnout of bakers and people willing to purchase goods, donate their cans and bottles, and send in donations. Every little bit helps!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I was disappointed that the wonderful article relating to World War II nurses who served, “Congress Moves To Honor WW II Nurses,” written by Katie Langley, published in a Monday edition on June 26. I just skim headlines on Mondays, but because I am a retired nurse, I read this article on my phone, wondering how many people missed this great story because it wasn’t in a printed edition of the paper.

I’m currently reading a great book, “The Woman With A Purple Heart, by Diane Hanks. This is based on Lieutenant  Annie Fox who was an Army nurse the day Pearl Harbor was attacked.

We need to recognize these women who served so bravely. Thank you, Senator Angus King, for supporting this bill introduced to the senate in May. I’m hoping to see this article repeated in print for all to see. — No name, Lewiston

ANSWER: Yes, Monday is an ePaper day only and I’m sorry you were disappointed that the story you were interested in wasn’t in a print edition.

The ePaper is published on Monday as a digital version, and this will continue, using the same layout that the print editions have the other days of the week. All the content is also available on https://www.sunjournal.com/ which can be easily accessed and read through multiple digital platforms.
