LEWISTON — A woman struck by a car Tuesday on Lisbon Street was listed in critical condition a day later at a Portland hospital.

Police said 65-year-old Nellie Rawding was seriously injured while crossing at 475 Lisbon St.

The driver of the Nissan Sentra that struck her was 21-year-old Mark Lamothe, who is cooperating with the investigation, according to a Facebook post by the Lewiston Police Department.

Rawding was first taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston before being transferred to Maine Medical Center in Portland.

The crash happened in the stretch of Lisbon Street that runs through the downtown. Police shut down the street for a time while the crash was reconstructed as part of their investigation.

No charges have been filed.
