Ken Gibbs, Chair, of Bridgton Comprehensive Plan Task Force

BRIDGTON — The Bridgton-Lake Region Rotary Club is pleased to announce that Mr. Ken Gibbs, chair of the Bridgton Comprehensive Plan Task Force, will be its speaker on Thursday, June 13.  Gibbs retired to Bridgton 15 years ago after nearly 40 years as a professor of American literature at Worcester State University, Worcester, Massachusetts.  He has been a member of several local civic organizations, most notably the Bridgton Land Use Committee and the Bridgton Planning Board.
Every ten years towns in Maine are required to develop an updated comprehensive plan, which provides the community with a legal basis for implementing growth and policy decisions reflecting the Town’s vision for the future. At this gathering, Gibbs will attempt to gain input that will enrich and supplement the plan. He is doing that with conversations and suggestions about Bridgton’s future growth gathered from members of significant town organizations such as Rotary.
Rotarian Aaron Hagan said, “We look forward to welcoming Ken Gibbs, hearing about the work of the Task Force, and sharing our suggestions with him. The public is also invited to join us.”
The meeting will be at 7:30 a.m. at Stella’s on the Square, 6 N. High Street, Bridgton. The public is invited and there is no cost. No breakfast is served. Frequently the Rotary Club has a Zoom option. To obtain that link, email them at LakeRegionRotary@gmail.com.
