LEWISTON — United Ambulance Communications has received the Critical Incident of the Year award from Maine’s National Emergency Number Association.

The nomination included a team of communications centers that were involved with responding to the Oct. 25, 2023, mass shooting in Lewiston.

Dispatchers were presented on May 17 with a certificate and plaque of recognition for their exemplary performance during the active shooter events.
