The Grants for Change Program at Maine Initiatives is accepting applications for its 2024 cohort.
This is year three of its three-year commitment to supporting racial justice organizing and activism in Maine — prioritizing Black liberation and Wabanaki sovereignty — with over $1.5 million in grants to 36 organizations.
The 12 organizations chosen this year through a participatory, community-led process will each receive three years of unrestricted funding (December 2024 to December 2027) in addition to opportunities for peer learning, capacity building, and community outreach activities with their fellow grantees over the course of their grant period.
Each grant award is $45,000 ($15,000 per year), according to a news release from Maine Initiatives.
Interested organizational applicants are encouraged to download and review the application and the Funding Opportunity Announcement with full details, eligibility requirements, and application instructions.

Applications are due at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, July 3.
