DEAR SUN SPOTS: This letter is for the family of Kelly Boulanger who died in a tragic car accident on Route 4 in 2003. The cross that you erected back then was broken during one of last winter’s storms. I thought you’d like to know in case you want to replace it. — Martha, no town

ANSWER: I hope someone in this family reads this and responds. If time goes by and there is no answer. Perhaps community members could replace it in memory of Kelly and in respect of her and her family. Let us know how things turn out.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: A week ago this past Friday, June 7, I lost a gold bracelet with little diamonds on it (tennis bracelet) that has been near and dear to my heart for years.

I have retraced my steps: I went to St. Dominic’s Academy on Baird Street in Lewiston, parking within the schoolyard, facing the middle of the building. I spent most of my time in Mrs. Williams’ room. Later that evening, I went to Paris Farmer’s Union on Main Street in Lewiston and parked right outside the door. After giving much thought, I may have gone to CVS on Sabattus Street, but not sure if that was on Friday.

I am devastated by this loss as it was a precious gift from my hubby many years ago and it was filled with memories. If found and returned to me, I would be happy to give a reward for your trouble. I am deeply saddened and pray daily that it is found! Please contact me at 577-3888. — Susan, no town

ANSWER: It’s so upsetting when a precious possession is lost. Did you report this to the city Police Department and to all the establishments you visited, as well as any neighboring businesses?

I always tell people to thoroughly check their vehicles, purses and shopping bags. Especially with a bracelet, it could have become unclasped and fallen into one of your bags. Let us know what happens and yes, we will be sending prayers your way.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have some travel books to donate. About ten of them are about travel to Africa and two of them are about United States cross-country trips. They were all published in the early to mid-2000s.

Anyone interested may call me at 576-5444, or Ms. Sun Spots, perhaps you have ideas on where I could donate them. Auburn Public Library cannot use them at this time. — Joanne, no town

ANSWER: Hopefully another reader will contact you and enjoy them. If there are no takers, you could find some Little Free Libraries to stow them in, or you can donate them to another smaller library, a thrift store such as Androscoggin Hospice Thrift Store at 245 Center St., Suite 2 in Auburn, or take them to Goodwill.

If you want to locate a Little Free Library in your community, go to https://littlefreelibrary.org/ and find the local map. You’d be amazed at how many of these lovely little perches are available to leave a book and take a book. I see them everywhere.
