NORWAY — Beginning Monday, June 17, children and their families may explore “Norway Library Garden Island” using a map created by Steve Florenz. The map is Volume 1, Number 1, in a summer series of maps aimed at encouraging discoveries outside the building during visits to the library.

To participate, pick up a Norway Library Garden Island map in the library’s children’s room or information desk, then go outside and walk around to see what you can discover. Bring your map back to the library to get an info-coin sticker added to your map. You may keep the special-edition map for your collection and return to get numbers 2 and 3 in the series later this summer.

This is part of the Friends of Norway Memorial Library’s project in collaboration with Oxford County Master Gardener volunteers. The project began in the spring of 2022. Volunteers have supplemented established gardens with native plants and pollinators, adding beauty and habitats for insects, butterflies, and birds. This summer, an added focus is educational opportunities for all ages.

Visit the Norway Memorial Library at 258 Main St., Norway. For more information, call 207-743-5309 or visit www.norwaymemoriallibrary.org.
