WEST PARIS — This Writing Your Memories: Roots & Recollections; A Six-Part Writing Workshop for Women workshop is for you if you’d like to:

• generate writing material from the vast archives of your life
• venture on a life review for yourself
• create a story heritage for your children and grandchildren

Memory is a writer’s treasure trove. It’s also the storehouse for all the experiences that have made you who you are.

Sometimes memories can seem evasive or inaccessible. Join us as we explore writing techniques that awaken the hidden, forgotten, bypassed, secreted memories tucked into the folds of your past. You will discover new gems in the old, familiar stories. You will uncover new stories ripe and ready to be told. You will be led to surprising places.

For once the well of memory is primed, it gives forth abundantly. You’ll be amazed at the richness of your own life: the bravery and the foolishness, the thresholds and the crossings, the mundane and the glorious – all makings for good story.

Most importantly, as you write your memories, you will be giving acknowledgment to those moments, both small and profound, which have given your life its shape and meaning; the bits and pieces which, all added up, comprise your story – one that’s worth remembering. One that’s worth telling.
