Preston Bailey-Davis of Whitefield drops a few more strawberries into her container Monday at R. Belanger & Sons Farms in Lewiston. Bailey-Davis and her mother, Margo Bailey, picked enough berries to give to extended family members. “People are saying that the strawberries are sweater and bigger this year,” said Josselyn Belanger while running the pick your own (PYO) stand. “We are hoping to stay open through July 4,” said Belanger. The farm is trying PYO peas for the first time this year. “Peas should be ready by the first of July,” said Belanger. Daryn Slover/Sun Journal
