PARIS — The Paris Parks & Recreation Dept is excited to kick off its popular Free Summer Concert Series for the Oxford Hills community with The Delta Knights Band. The band will be setting up in the quaint gazebo in beautiful Moore Park, 59 High Street in South Paris on Wednesday, July 10.

The band will play from 6-8 p.m. and residents and visitors are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs, blankets or towels to stretch out and relax on the grass with family, neighbors and friends. Food Truck, 4 J’s BBQ of Mexico, will be onsite.

The Delta Knights Band is a mainstay of the Maine music scene. Formed in 1996, the band comprises some of the most seasoned musicians in the state. Rob Babson (guitar/vocals/founder), Justin Maxwell (bass/vocals), Darren Whitney (saxophone), and Brian Hodgman (drums) play a wide variety of styles, including blues, R&B, and classic rock, both original music and cover tunes.

There will be lively music on Wednesdays throughout the Summer in the South Paris park. “We’re delighted to have many great bands playing at our free concerts for our community,” said KC Christensen, Paris Parks, Recreation & Community Development director.

“We’re also restarting our popular Art /Makers Faire the same night from 5-8 p.m. We’re reviewing art vendors now for Wednesdays with the Concerts. Contact me if interested in a free space.”

“Free admission, great music, art, crafts, food – all in a pretty Park on a Summer Night…how could you not have fun?” Christensen enthused.

The Paris Rec Dept will also be offering a free Movie Night on August 7, sponsored by Oxford Federal Credit Union and more community concerts, activities and events in the coming months.
