DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Lisbon United Methodist Church, located at 14 School St. in Lisbon Falls, will once again be participating in Lisbon’s Annual Moxie Festival.

Our kitchen will be open Friday, July 12 from 5-7 p.m. for the sale of hot dogs and strawberry shortcake. Our kitchen will reopen on Saturday, July 13 at 9 a.m. for the sale of hot dogs, strawberry shortcake and Moxie floats.

Please consider supporting our efforts so we can continue to give back to the amazing Lisbon community. — Erica, no town

ANSWER: There’s nothing like the Moxie Festival, and I’m so glad it’s still going strong. Because you mention strawberries, I have to ask if anyone has ever added a bit of Moxie to your macerated berries to spark them up a bit? Once upon a time, a Lisbon Falls friend served me strawberries prepared that way on a slice of chocolate cake (also enhanced with Moxie in the batter). And I believe there was a drizzle of Moxie in the whipped cream as well. This was delicious. We love our Moxie, don’t we?

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have a 2010 Sebring convertible and the top won’t go down.

The problem is securing the cargo shield (which according to my research involves putting in a new switch). I need a mechanic that works with the mechanism of convertible tops.

The two dealers I contacted will not touch it. I’m hoping that someone can recommend a person to fix this issue, or you might have someone in your amazing Rolodex? — Marty, Auburn

ANSWER: That spot in my Rolodex is blank at the moment so Sun Spotters, let’s help Marty by putting our collective heads together to come up with a solution.

AAA may know of someone to recommend. YouTube may also have helpful information. Start here: chryslerforum.com/forum/new-member-area-5/2010-sebring-touring-convertible-top-malfunction-32041/

I’ll keep researching and readers, please chime in if you can help.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In response to the question concerning public transportation from Lewiston-Auburn to the Portland Jetport (June 25 Sun Spots), the proposed route for the new DOT-sourced bus is down Washington Avenue and Congress Street in Portland.

Passengers will be able to get off at Monument Square (Elm Street Station where there is an indoor seating area) and transfer to the newly rerouted and more frequent Metro Line 7 that goes to the Jetport. This will be easier than the current Concord Coach option which only goes to Portland Transportation Center.

Because of the current parking situations at both the Transportation Center and the Jetport, I have been parking at the Auburn Exit 75 at the Park and Ride or at the Concord Coach building then traveling on to Portland. — No name, no town

ANSWER: Thank you so much for this great travel tip. I’d love to see more Mainers take advantage of the public transportation we have in place and to voice our need for more options.
