Norway Savings Bank’s Paris branch employees celebrated its 40th anniversary during the last week of June.

PARIS — Since opening its doors in 1866, Norway Savings Bank has been inspired by its mission to be good neighbors and took advantage of a special occasion in South Paris to do so in late June.

The NSB South Paris branch, located on 7 High Street, celebrated its 40th anniversary during the week of June 24 with games, giveaways, refreshments, and special events to thank customers for their loyalty. As part of the commemoration, NSB also gave back to the wider community that welcomed it into Paris in 1984 and continues to support the branch each day.

“We invited our customers and community members to go online or come into the branch and vote for local non-profit organizations selected by our team to determine how $2,024 in donations would be split,” said Abby Inman, Branch Supervisor of NSB’s Paris branch. “The three non-profit organizations that will receive financial donations from the branch are the Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine, Responsible Pet Care, and the Pink Feather Foundation.”

The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine in Norway embraces anyone affected by cancer by creating a hopeful and caring community that provides support, resources, education, and wellness services. Also in Norway, the Pink Feather Foundation works to improve the lives of local students by partnering with teachers to confidentially provide clothing and accessories at no cost. Responsible Pet Care in South Paris provides a compassionate, loving environment for homeless felines and canines and seeks to place them in new forever homes.

“We’re deeply grateful for the many wonderful nonprofits in the area and are thankful to be able to support many of them over the course of the year, including the three anniversary recipients,” said Dan Walsh, President and CEO of NSB. “We believe in making a difference in our communities, and giving back is always the most fulfilling part of branch anniversary celebrations.”

In the coming months, NSB will also celebrate branch anniversaries in Bridgton (55th), Yarmouth (15th), Gray (10th), and the Forest Avenue branch in Portland (10th).
