HARRISON — An 18-year-old man who was shot in the right calf during a game of “ding dong ditch” has been released from Bridgton Hospital and issued a cease harassment notice and trespass warning.

The notice applies to the resident of the home at 91 Waterford Road, Vincent Martin, 30, who allegedly shot Dominick Mellon of Bridgton, after Mellon and a group of teens rang his doorbell and ran away early Saturday morning.

Martin was arrested Saturday at his home and charged with class A felony elevated aggravated assault, class B felony aggravated reckless conduct, and two misdemeanors — discharging a firearm near a dwelling and discharging a firearm over a way.

Martin was released from Cumberland County Jail on bail with conditions not to use or possess “dangerous weapons or firearms,” according to a Thursday news release from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Jim Estabrook, there are no pending criminal charges against Mellon at this time.
