Residents of Auburn may plan on one of the finest water systems by October 1st of any city in New England for the foundation of the pumping station at Lake Auburn has been completed and work on the brick walls begins Monday.
50 Years Ago: 1974
Over $200 worth of merchandise was taken in a nighttime break at McGee’s Corner Market in Lewiston.
Police were notified of the break this morning by Melvin Strome of Auburn, owner of the well-known store located at 24 Spring Street.
25 Years Ago: 1999
The Maine Chapter of the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation has received a $10,000 grant to promote knowledge of the role of folic acid in preventing birth defects.
