Carmen Marylour Ouellette Jutras
MANCHESTER, Conn. – Carmen Marylour Ouellette Jutras of Manchester, Conn., went to be with the Lord on Aug. 31, 2024. She was born in Lewiston, on Dec. 21, 1927. In 1947, she and Marcel were married and had five children. They relocated to Manchester in 1952 where she lived for the remainder of her life.
Carmen touched so many lives, making this a better world in so many positive ways. Her love, her joy, her peace and gentleness defined who she was. Carmen thoroughly enjoyed her time working with the children at Robertson School in Manchester, as well as her volunteer work at Manchester Memorial Hospital. She cherished her time spent with her dear friends in her Bunco group for almost 50 years.
Carmen’s sense of humor was legendary. Her sweet smile greeted all who entered her home. She was a person of strong Catholic faith. Her beautiful voice was in itself a prayer, and she enjoyed being a member of Saint James Church choir. We were fortunate enough to have had her in our lives and her family is especially grateful for the fond memories spent at her home on many Sunday afternoons, where she’d welcome us all with open arms.
Carmen is survived by her four children, Diane Jutras Cormier Bouchard (Paul), Catherine Jutras McCann (George), James Jutras (Linda), and Glenn Jutras (Suzanne).
Her beloved grandchildren are Aimee Cormier, David Cormier (Dave Mozdiak), Shane McCann (Jennifer), Luke McCann (Rachel), Sarah Morrissey (Kyle), Rachel Syme (Dan), Emily Morse (Bruce), Matthew Jutras (Yasmin), Amanda Runge (Joel) and Jake Jutras (Courtney). Carmen was additionally blessed with 27 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Marcel of 68 years, their daughter Dolores, her parents, Edouard and Emilia Ouellete and her siblings, Camille, Edouard, Marie, Aurella, Rita and Laurianne.
Calling hours are Friday, September 6, at Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center Street in Manchester, from 9 – 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., at Saint James Church, 896 Main Street, Manchester, with burial to follow at Saint James Cemetery.
We would like to send out special thanks to June Duncan, who lovingly cared for Carmen in her home, and the staff at Vernon Rehab, who were so kind and compassionate.
